Endorsed by former Police Chief Lin Tucker

Joe is deeply grateful for the endorsement of Lin Tucker, Sedro-Woolley’s former Police Chief. Chief Tucker dedicated three decades to our police department and served seven years in the U.S. Navy before beginning his law enforcement career.

Reflecting on Joe’s leadership, Chief Tucker said, “When Joe first ran for Council, he was the first candidate that ever came in and introduced himself and asked what we needed as employees of the City. I thought that was refreshing as someone who was going to represent the citizens of Sedro-Woolley. He must have spent a couple of hours with me and the Fire Chief looking at where we were and where we wanted to be, a seriously down-to-earth approach!”

During his time as chief, Tucker consistently prioritized public trust and officer accountability. He worked to modernize the department, including implementing officer-worn cameras well before most agencies in the area took that step. His leadership was marked by foresight and a strong belief in serving with integrity and transparency. His retirement marked the end of a remarkable career focused on keeping Sedro-Woolley a safe and respectful place to live.

Joe Burns shares that same deep commitment to the safety of our community. As a City Council member, Joe has supported smart investments in public safety, including backing initiatives to improve police equipment and training. He believes that safety is not just about policing, but also about building strong neighborhoods, supporting youth, and ensuring emergency services are fully prepared. Joe understands that a safe community is a thriving one, and he’s committed to making decisions that protect everyone, from our kids to our seniors.
