Fighting for our community in Olympia

Joe is the only council member who has traveled to Olympia in the last four years to participate in the Association of Washington Cities' City Action Days. He has consistently advocated for you, our city, and our first responders.

For the past three years, Joe has taken time off work to attend this important event. While in Olympia, he participates in training sessions, meets with our state legislators, and collaborates with council members from across Washington to explore creative solutions for strengthening and protecting our communities.

The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is a nonprofit organization that represents Washington’s 281 cities and towns. It provides advocacy, education, and support to city leaders, ensuring that local governments have a voice in state policy decisions. AWC works to advance the interests of cities through training, research, and direct lobbying efforts in Olympia.

City Action Days is AWC’s annual legislative conference held each winter in Olympia. It brings together city officials from across the state to learn about key legislative priorities, meet with lawmakers, and participate in workshops that strengthen local leadership. It’s a hands-on opportunity to directly influence state policies that impact our communities—and Joe has made sure Sedro-Woolley has a seat at the table.
